Day 2 of Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Sping/Summer 2014 is officially over and we saw a little bit more of the original spirit of the NYC designers: sophistication, glamour, simplicity, and most of all, we saw the American man and woman represented on the runway. I'm in love with the color pallets and prints presented in the shows today, it's definitely not about bright colors next summer exclusively, it's also gonna be about dusty, washed colors. This is the schedule of all shows NYFW, don't miss a thing :-)

These are my favorite looks for each show ¡Enjoy!
(Estos son mis looks favoritos de cada diseñador, disfruten)

This is one of the most beautiful collections I've seen so far this season. It was expected to see a lot of white on white ensembles but the big surprise was that they successfully incorporated the hottest trends right now in some of the looks, such as the intricate cut-outs beautifully located, and a little glance of what is supposed to be crop-tops. The color palette was very classic and quite related of what the other designers have shown so far: light-khaki-cream, white on white, black, and the innovation came in that beautiful purple accent at the end of the collection. ¡Oh, and the prints were also to die for! Prints tend to be a little bit risky when it comes to show a collection cohesive and smart, but they managed to make them look classy and easy to wear.

 - Jason Wu -

This is classic Jason Wu and the aesthetic that made him famous. The strong blazers are still there presenting the Wu woman as a world citizen ready to be on top of her game. I'm in love with the shoes, they look comfy yet useful to wear in any moment of the day, specially because they are meant to be wearable during summer time. I also love the see-through skirts and long-sleeve shirts and the knit over-sized sweaters. The colors were a little boring but those are trendy right now in pretty much every collection presented so far in New York, I guess he is playing safe and commercial-ish (more than usual).

This is one of those collections that the clientele of the brand can't wait to see in the stores because everything is wearable, chic, and literally ready to wear. There wasn't a single piece boring or repetitive, but inclusive and pretty much perfect. Once again the cut-outs are present as one of the main trends this season, but the huge innovation and refreshing surprise of the collection were those cute silver looks that came opening the show. Finally we're seeing something different that we can call a trend itself. The introduction of silver tones in the wardrobe for spring/summer 2014. ¡And I love it!

This collection was fun and easy-going. I love how the entire palette was based in black and white but she managed to give it a little bit more life introducing accents of bright colors and prints, such as red, blue and yellow, also florals and mexican-related prints. And oh my god, did you guys see the gladiator sandals, object of desire. The entire collection is literally meant to be wearable in summer.

Peter Som made it clear that Crop-tops are gonna be huge next year (even tho' we are already seeing the trend nowadays). I quite love it because it's supposed to be a trend to feel comfy in those hot days of summer, but it's also a sign to every woman out there to go to the gym as soon as possible, because crop tops are pretty much for women with a great tummy. You don't want to see yourself with muffin tops hanging out of your leggings don't cha?. Other than that, this collection was safe and kinda boring, but every piece is wearable and commercial appealing.
