The glamour, the fashion, the masks, the dresses, the people, the drinks, the mood and feel, the beautiful purpose to raise money to fight HIV/AIDS, absolutely everything was in the right place to make DIFFA DALLAS 2014 one of the best events of the year so far.
The event took place in the spectacular and magnificent Omni Dallas Hotel on Saturday March 29th, giving everyone enough reasons to consider this place one of the most iconic and glamorous of the entire city. To me, there isn't better place to celebrate this annual black-tie benefit in Dallas.
But can we pleace start talking about the fashion? Local fashion designers such as Geoffrey Henning, Kelli Kouri and Ruby Charles by Ruqaiyah Johnson were present, also clothing and jewels from major international fashion houses as Saint Laurent Paris and Stella McCartney made part of the auction that supports AIDS organizations in North Texas.
As the night progressed, the room transformed in a beautiful Venice Carnival type of venue featuring its infamous Masquerade Ball in St. Mark’s Square. Models were wearing the most beautiful and extravagant designs down the runway while people were there watching, chatting and eating. Anything can go wrong when there's food, booze, and fashion in the same room. The opulence was there, but people never forgot that the main propose of it all was to raise money for a beautiful cause.
Some pictures of the runway:
It was my first time attending the benefit, and as a fashion blogger myself, it was a life changing experience to me, since I've never been in an event as glamorous and well put together. I'd like to thank to Sir. Arthur Hood and Erdwing Mancini for giving me the opportunity to attend the event, I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
